In an atmosphere of deep emotion and reverence, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on May 23, 2026, at the Holy Church of Agia Irini in Tabakika, Chios, a property of the University of the Aegean, following the completion of its restoration and conservation works. The works were carried out through the donation of the Christian Educational Foundation in memory of Efthymios and Konstantina Zolotas.

The restoration and preservation of this historic church contributed significantly to the safeguarding of cultural and religious heritage. The Divine Liturgy was attended by the Vice-Rector of the University of the Aegean, Professor Stylianos Xanthopoulos; the President of the Christian Educational Foundation in memory of Efthymios and Konstantina Zolotas, Professor Georgios Kalamotousakis; the Dean, Professor Manolis Christofakis; the Head of the Department of Business Administration, Professor Apostolos Christofidis; members of the university community; the staff of the University of the Aegean; as well as many faithful and residents of Chios.

Special reference was made to the honorary plaque placed in the Holy Church, as a sign of recognition of the significant contribution of the Christian Educational Foundation in memory of Efthymios and Konstantina Zolotas.
